Hello,

i'm looking for laptop to school and for programming.

Laptop must be cheapest as possible (i don't have too much money, i'm student), lightest as possible, and battery life must be highest as possible. I'm not gonna play games on it (maybe just light games like minesweeper, Metin2, league of legends, cs 1.6).

Budget is around $100 - $150 (maybe i can increase budget in case of something interesting).

It can be second-hand.

I would recommend craigslist, if you are in the US and near a metropolitan area, or ebay. You will not be able to buy new in this pricerange. Be careful and verify that it works. Otherwise if you are only using web based applications you could look at a chrome book.

In that price range you are restricted to chromebooks, not for running Visual Studio.

I only would steer you to used if you know EXACTLY what you are doing and if you have to ask..... I dunno.

You are basically limited to something like a used HP Stream 11. It is a very basic laptop with only 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, but it does run Windows 8.1. You will need to eventually install a SD card for more storage capacity. You cannot add more RAM.

A more recent version was released around 5 or 6 months ago with 4GB of RAM, but used models seems to be selling for above $150. Here is a review for the Hp Stream 11 and a followup video for Minecraft using Optifine (not compatible with the Windows 10 version of Minecraft). Last there is a video demoing LoL on the laptop.
