A reserved watch is payed for in the store, not online.

I fail to see any relevance to this story at all. It was only ever the most greedy, stupid and childish purchasers who queued up outside the stores anyway. Why not let them continue? They clearly enjoy being ripped off by peak Apple prices, and will no doubt be eagerly awaiting the impending misery of their 'cooool' Apple Watch looking ultra stupid when its battery dies yet again.... So why not let them enjoy another good Apple shafting by letting them queue for hours, then telling them there's no stock?
