Software for new windows build

I'm building a new high end pc and will be running windows 8.1
I would like to know if there is any must have free program's I should use.
I'm already going to install VLC, Peer Block (using as light fire wall), win rar, 7zip, Tor, ad block, tixati (torrents).

For browser am thinking google Crome?

I need a bunch of free security program's, more the better.

Also I would like to know what kind of cleaning program's I can use to keep the system healthy.

Anything that can help hardwere too?

I'm a photographer, is there a image browser better than the standed one?

anything else you think is a useful tool?

For a fast free image viewer, see IrfanView. Also Faststone Imageviewer.

Also, go to ninte.com. You can select from many free and open source applications. You get a small exe download, and that goes out to the relevant websites, gets the latest version, and installs it for you. And best of all, it install only the chosen application, not any bloatware that some of them come with.
