Soldering with only the soldering wire, possible ?

Hello everybody

to control my drone with my computer, I have to make a REALLY small soldering

would it be possible to use only the soldering wire as cable, and no other cable ? so I could cut for example 2cm of soldering wire, put one side to my chip and the other side into the plug (see the photo).

or is it very bad ? in fact I don't really have any other alternative because my soldering iron is too big

Touch one end of a length of solder and it melts a few inches so you have to use proper wire. Buy a specialist soldering iron annd expect to pay quite a lot for a good one. A lamp with a magnifying glass is also essential in my view.
