My phone was stolen and my friend received a message from a friend and it came through as my number
When I got hold of the phone it wasn’t my stolen one the imei numbers were different and it was a different colour so how is this I’m confused help

My phone was stolen 4days later my mate received a txt from a friend and it came through as me and my number so I got hold of this phone and it wasn’t my stolen phone it had a different imei no and it was a different colour how is this I really need to find my I phone 6 please help
