Sony a5000 Question

I was wondering if I can keep this camera plugged in and film from a tripod for like youtube videos. When I plug it in now all it says is USB connected, and stays on that screen. I just want it to always be charging while filming.

Are you connecting the USB cable to a computer or the wall outlet? Not sure that it matters as the battery may only charge when the camera is turned off. I could be wrong.
