Sony Bravia Ear Piercing Through Home Theater

I've had a new 55" Bravia for about two months, and suddenly today it blasted this ear piercing white noise and then screeching through my home theater. The sound did not come through the tv's speakers. I shut everything in a rush, and turned it back on. It played fine for about 15 minutes and then it happened again. It stops when I shut down the tv, so I know it's not the stereo. I'm using the Optical Audio output. Has anyone experienced or heard of anything like this? Thanks

The sound going away when you turn the TV off doesn't completely eliminate the stereo as the problem. Connect another source via the optical input and see if the same think happens. Does it happen with other digital inputs on the stereo?
