Hello,
I WANT TO TRANSFER MY CASSETTE TAPES TO CD WITHOUT THE USE OF A COMPUTER IS THIS POSSIBLE

i would like to think it is possible but only with a cd recorder that has that option and i am pretty certain you cannot high speed dub. you will be looking at real time . if your computer has a provision to do this i would use your computer for this , the cd recorder you would need would probably cost near as much as a computer. if you do not want to use your computer for sound quality purposes , there is a setting in most burner programs that you can change the sample rate to a higher quality , this will get rid of that compressed chopy digital sound that most downloaded music has . 44100 (44.1k) samples per second is about the typical cd quality the higher the sample rate the higher definition and overall quality , most people on most equipment wouldn't notice quality any higher than cd quality.
