SONY HDR-CX260V Poor video quality

My Sony Handycam hdr-cx260v recorded very sharp, clear video when I first bought it last year, but soon it started recording much worse quality, fuzzy video. I thought maybe I had accidentally changed something in the settings, but I've experimented with all sorts of settings changes and I always get crappy video now from this camera. Any ideas what could be the problem?

You may want to check out the troubleshooting section. Check out the section on "Images cannot be recorded or played back correctly" on page 201.

Make sure its recording in the right resolution. make sure the lens is clean and free of dust in between the lens parts, there are sometimes very tiny movements going on with the lenses.
