Sony Md to Marantz nr1402

Hi, can anyone help please
my current set up
Panasonic plasma tv
PS3
Marantz 5004 cd
Sony Blu Ray
AMD 8 core pc
Sony mini disc je510
my problem is i can playback music from the mini disc analogue thru RCA or digitally thru either the optical or coaxial
but how can I set up the line in of the md
to be able to record from a source.
I know I could use the headphones socket on the nr1402 but that brings its own problems of being unable to hear what recording.
the only outputs I can see on the nr1402 is for a preamp to enable 7.1
sound. Could i use this

The Marantz NR1402 is a good av receiver but to make it compact they left off a lot of connections (that most people never use). The MD recorder has analog and digital inputs so you can connect 2 sources directly to it. The digital input will produce a better result so use that one for your most important source. You can get an input selector switch to add more inputs.
The HDMI outputs of your sources would connect to the receiver for normal use.
