Hi Everyone

The thing is that my wife's Sony Vaio PCG-71211W was overheating but was working perfectly fine otherwise.

Today, having some time to spare, I took it upon myself to follow a youtube video, open it up, take out the fan and clean the fan. Alongwith the fan, the copper coils (Heat sink) came off - with one of the copper coils what I guess was the processor also came off (attached to one of the coils).

I cleaned everything, put the entire thing back in one piece - but when I tried to switch it on, the green LED kept blinking and it didn't boot.

Looked for solutions online - thought that the RAM might not have slotted in place, reopened the laptop refitted the copper coils and fan, reinserted RAM, HDD - this time when I switched it on, the green LED kept on continuously and it still didnt boot. When I press the power button with the green LED on, the HDD light comes on for the same time as I keep the power button pressed, but nothing boots.

I tried booting with one RAM in place, in both slots, that didn't work too.

Please suggest what might have happened?

Many Thanks in advance!
