Sony Vaio E series + SSD question

Ordered a Sony Vaio E series Laptop for my gf and I want to upgrade the HDD to a SSD myself. Probably a 120 or 128gb.
Website just says "Storage Type: Serial ATA", but I think that's just the hard drive itself, not the motherboard's capability.

Question is: Should I upgrade to Sata 2 or Sata 3?
I'm guessing it doesn't support Sata 3 and I won't notice too much difference?

What do you guys think?

Simply guessing here but I would think at a minimum it would be SATA II. I really don't think it would make that much of a perceptible difference either way. SSD's are just a good upgrade IMO.

So, did you do the nasty? I was just speaking with a sony rep and they wanted ~$400 for the SSD upgrade. He said warranty is void if I install a SSD myself. But I was just wondering how it went? Thanks
