All,

I have a Sony Vaio VPCSE13fxb that I picked up for a song as a closeout. It has a dual card configuration with an Intel 3000 and Radeon 6450M configuration.

There is a physical switch that toggles between STAMINA and SPEED modes, ie Intel and ATI.

My issue is this: even with SPEED selected, it still uses the Intel card. I have downloaded the newest drivers from Sony, but to no avail.

When I attempt to download the drivers straight from AMD, I get the error that states I dont have hardware that supports ATI software.

Here are the whole system specs:

I have and still no-go.

It is fairly low end for descrete graphics, but it should still be better than HD3000. besides, I got this laptop for $330 as a closeout from a local bigbox retailer.

I just want it to work as intended. LOL

For laptops with switchable graphics you need to download the graphic drivers (whether AMD or nVidia) from the laptop manufacturer's website (Sony in your case). That is why you are getting an error when trying to install drivers downloaded from AMD's website.
