Solved! Sony XBR900E not outputting 5.1

I recently purchased a Sony xbr55900E smart tv and cannot get the tv to output 5.1 surround, I only get linear PCM 2.0. My receiver is a Sony STR DN1040. I have the receiver output connected to HDMI ARC on the TV and also an optical cable for back up.
Any help would be appreciated

There is usually an audio set up menu on the TV where you can change the audio output type to 5.1 or bitstream. Check the manual.

Thanks for the reply. I have gone through the tv settings top to bottom and cannot find anything.... surely this is possible.
All tv apps outputting 2.0. Disappointing I can’t watch movies from google play in surround.
