Why are they dropping prices of equipment that really has a very small market? Can't they drop CPU prices by a 100 bucks, that'll see a 10 to 20% rises in CPU sales I bet.

Apple did not announce a price drop. It is just some people, who are believed to be in the know, are guessing that. Kind of like all those people in the know talking about the iPhone 5 a few months ago with the larger screen and all. And the same ones talking about the 2 versions of iPhone we were going to get as well. Point is, it could happen but nothing official has been announced.

You answered your own question. They keep CPU prices because you're buying them at that price. They're dropping these prices because you aren't buying them at the old price. AMD will likely drop BD prices because no one wants to buy them, but Intel will keep i5 prices because everyone buys them. Plus, Sony can still profit off the software on their services, whereas selling you a CPU offers Intel/AMD no further profit.

Sony, I don't need your OPed On Demand trash and PSSuite is a flop with few games. Call me when you drop your prices down to everyone else's since you aren't offering me anything different.

Sorry even at $399 it is still at least $100 overpriced. Had one in hand and it felt like a cheap plastic POS. Heck the Kindle Fire feels premium compared to the Sony Tablet S!!

I have one and it has replaced 5 remote controllers on the living room table!
And I can also check internet. A real gem! And works great.

yeah, I'm not a fan of the shape, but I like the PlayStation-certified and the IR functionality. But that is not enough to draw me to it. if it were $299 I might bite, but I'd still really have to think about it.
I think my money instead is going to go towards the Transformer Prime Mini (7") coming out at the end of this month. I think it will be the perfect size to hold in one hand and have all the specs I really want.
