Some time I watch Video over Internet or Video from friends. But the sound volume is low. I have adjusted my laptops volume to max. I still cannot get a good level. An external amplifier is not always available. I think this may the original clip was prepared with a low audio level. Is there any good software that can help. Preferably free and not involve touching the original video file (such as re-encoding).

If you're just using built-in speakers and your system settings already have the volume at max, and if the software you're using to play the video is also at max (I'm guessing YouTube/Facebook in a browser, or equivalent), there's not too much else you can do.

If you have the ability though to download the videos and play them locally (and not over the Internet), you can use a player called VLC that'll allow for you to increase the video volume by up to 400%.

Anything else and I'd be weary of increasing your speaker volume, as it's very easy to blow out laptop speakers.

I was able to get a lot louder sound from the speaker for other video clips. I have to use my laptop speaker control to lower the volume. So I know that it's the problem of the Video source that I am watching. I don't think I should be worrying about blowing my laptop speaker . But that is a very good point. I'll be careful if the software that I am looking for to amplify the sound does exist.

I'm replying to this old thread.. But I found a free audio amplifier or an equalizer software which is useful for everyone (Well mostly..):

-Softwares-

EqualizerAPO: http://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/

Requirements:
- Windows Vista or later (currently only Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 have been tested)
- Sound card driver must support APOs (this includes most onboard sound drivers)
- The application must not bypass the system effect infrastructure
(possible by using special APIs like ASIO)

Simple GUI program by Znuff to put inside one of the sub folder:
32bit version: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/120650/EqAPO/eq-con...
64bit version:https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/120650/EqAPO/eq-con...

How to use by Znuff:

1. Download EqualizerAPO software first

2. Edit the default config file ( \Program Files\EqualizerAPO\config\config.txt ) to read something like this:

Preamp: 0 dB
Include: eq.txt

3. Download the Simple GUI program and drop in the config directory (again, \Program Files\EqualizerAPO\config\)

4. Start the GUI and play around with the settings. You should notice a change in the sound as soon as you move the sliders.

Have fun guys! If you want more information, you can check out his website at:

So thanks to the great Znuff well he rocks and Ohhh yeahh see ya!
