Soundbar to TV

I gave a tcl 55 inch TV and want to. up a sound bar. Most sound bars need an opitical connection to the TV but it doesn't have one. It does have an spfid audio out. Can this work?

To connect the TV's coax digital audio output (S/PDIF) to the optical audio input on a soundbar, you would need a digital converter such as this one:
