Speakers for 150?

I built a new PC a few days ago and Im looking for a good pair of speakers. I have been looking at the soundsticks 3 and the Z623. Im open for more recomendations and also the main use will be for music and secondly gaming as I enjoy the good quality mids and highs as much as a great bass, but considering the budget I need some help please!!

Since they are primarily for music I would take a look at these

or you could get a pair of passive bookshelf speakers and a small amp to drive them

That would allow for easier upgrades in the future.

Thanks, the bookshelf solution sounds great and maybe pairing them with a good amp for future upgrades so it sounds like the way to go so thanks again
