Speakers making Helicopter Noise

My PC crashed the other day whilst I was playing Prison Architect and the speakers started making a helicopter type noise. I then went away for a few days and upon returning and starting up my PC, the speakers are still making the same noise. I cannot hear the noise if I turn my speakers off.

Test the speakers on another system, test your system with another set of speakers or headphones. Try it on both rear and front audio jacks if you have both.
