Hello I have a system which is older than me properly, but anyway I have side/reer speakers but they do not do voices sometimes, so i want to set it as stero so it does not think i have 18 speakers as they only work in 7:1 mode.

Is there a way to get these speakers to work in Stero?

Many surround receivers have a multi channel stereo mode. If your does just use it.
If not you would need a 3-4 pr speaker selector switch like this

connected to the front outputs. You would connect the front speakers and 2 of these:

They would connect to both the front selector and side and rear speaker outs of the receiver. The speakers would connect to these as well. One for side, one for rear. That way you can select whether all 3 pair of speakers are connected to the front speaker outs or connected to the correct outputs for surround sound. The 3-4 position speaker selector is to keep your receiver from blowing up when all 3 pair are connected to the front.
You could then select to feed the speakers as you wish. Not too convenient but it would work.
By the way side and rear speakers are not supposed to do voices as that is the job of the center or dialogue speaker.
