Speakers turns on and off randomly every 10 minutes of usage with a 'crackeling' noise

Hi

I have Creative speakers 5.1 Channel (Inspire T6100) and they are working fine from last 3-4 years, nowadays after sometime of its usage they kinda makes a popping noise and shuts off automatically for about 7-10 seconds and turns on back in. Whenever the speaker shuts off like this the blue LED of the speakers also goes off.

I've noticed that this starts happening after I've changed my PC's motherboard. I've upgraded to the motherboard - MSI Z97 Gaming 3. Not sure if this is the only reason..

Seems to happen every 10 minutes of usage. This is disturbing thing while listening to some media....
Any ideas what this could be ?

Sounds like the control knob is going bad I use to love buying those creative lab speakers back in the day was good value for money.
