I just bought an asus g750 js for $1800 from amazon. This was about a week ago. Square trade offers a 3 year including accidental for $350. I still have a few days to decide, but was wondering what your opinions were on the matter.

I take this laptop everywhere, im on it a minimum 6 hours a day. It is very solid, and does come with a 1 year from asus also covering a one time accidental replacement. I realize most actual manufactur problems do occur during that first year. And the best life of a laptop is usually offered within the first few years. So most major problems would happen after that third year.

So any thoughts on the specific question as to whether I should get a square trade warrenty on my laptop. Any thoughts or opinions on a warranty at all, maybe other than square trade? Any thoughts or opinions on square trade warrenties in general? Any other options?

Well - paying for warranty is a sore point with me. According to Australian law the product should last as long as is reasonably expected. I bet US law is similar. A $1800 laptop should last for 3 years anyway. Batteries maybe not so depending on use. But you've then made it a $2150 laptop.
