standby button flashing

we have an alba tv it comes on and after about 1 hour turns off and the standby button keeps flashing and it wont turn back on ,,, after about 1hour or so it will come back and does the same again its about 3 years old

Usually they go into standby when there is no signal coming in.

Hello,

If the LED is flashing red, it's time to go service that TV. If it's flashing green/blue (the same colour as the LED in normal working condition), coastie65 is right: poor TV signal or no signal at all.
