Static from speakers

There's this nasty static that comes from my new relatively cheap (though surprisingly okay quality) speakers. It only happens when they're connected to my laptop, which doesn't have any static when using any sort of headphones or different speakers. Also, when i plug the speakers into my phone, there is also no static. Could anyone tell me what's up with that?

I had this same problem. If this is your solution, you may feel a little stupid, i know i did . Try moving your phone away from your speakers. I bought a new smartphone and it did the same thing with my bose speakers.

Could be a poorly shielded cable that is picking up interference from the laptop,try plugging into your phone then move the cable close to the laptop when it is working hard.
