Ever since I bought the mainboard in December last year, there has been static noise noticable when using the mic and when nothing is playing.
The issue was "fixed" after I installed the correct audio drivers, since ASUS GRID installed the wrong ones. 3 months later and the issue appeared again. I uninstalled the drivers and it was gone for a few weeks.
I purchased an internal soundcard, with the assumption being that it was the onboard sound messing around. The static was always more apparent when I moved my mouse, sometimes appearing and then dissapearing, seemingly being affected by CPU/GPU stress. However, the internal soundcard didn't fix anything, so I'm at a loss.
It appears after POST and then only is gone after is has completly shut down.
I tried:
  • Different headphones, same static in every singe one, except USB headphones and microphones, those didn't produce static.
  • Unplugging and plugging everything back in
  • Using front and back panel ports, same static
  • Removing every USB device, same static
  • Using a wireless mouse, same static
Mainboard: ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING
GPU: NVIDIA 1060 6GB
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core
RAM: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance 2933 MHz
PSU: 750W be quiet! Straight Power 11
Mouse (if it matters) : Logitech G500s
Any help would be appreciated.
