"It was a nice gesture"? He gave him something that costs the company a negligible amount, and didn't put any thought in to him being the RUSSIAN president what-so-ever.

It was a PR move. Nothing more. To be fair, it usually is in these cases though.

Fail gesture... Apple has access to all iPhone models, including unlocked ones. i can't believe Jobs is using a locked device, or any of his croonies for that matter.
Better not to give anything than to give something that doesn't work. I wouldn't do that, and I'm not someone with Jobs' wealth.

it's a special cell phone...this is how we spy on the Russian president these days....why do you think Obama BinLain met with Steve last month? he needed a report on all those conversation the Russian president made on the special cell phone ;)
