Is it possible to recover stolen laptop?

if you have lojack on it... otherwise unless you've installed some sort of vpn, or other remote software on it, it will be hard to get it back... There have been stories of people remotely accessing systems that had been stolen but that was mostly due to the luck that the owner had some server type software on there and the thief was not computer literate.
