My laptop was one of the displayed laptops at the store, meaning in order for costumers to see it, It had to be plugged in all the time. I was wondering if that had potentially damaged the battery since it does lose power rather quickly. (The salesmen said that the battery life was similar to that of a smartphone)
I own a Lenovo ideapad.

It depends on how 'quickly' the battery is draining. And keep in mind that the battery will drain faster doing some things (like playing games or watching a movie) than it will when just working on a text file or reading the news online.

Check the specs online for your laptop to see what the battery should be doing. If what you are getting is well below what it says, I would be contacting that store again and getting them to give you a new battery.
