Hi,
I have just spent the last 5 or so hours trying to successfully unlock my Athlon 2100+. I am running it on an EPOX 8K5A2+. Now I finaly succeded (Danm those really tiny connections) and I went experementing. I wanted to unlock it so I could run the FSP at 166Mhz while keeping the CPU still around the default 1733Mhz. Now I found that is I tried to set the multiplyer below 11 it would not POST. It doesnt really affect me I dont mind running the CPU at around 1830mhz. But I was wondering if anyone had encountered this.
Thanks

Very strange... do you have the latest BIOS? If I'm right the newest one has some CPU fixes in it.

My CPU runs so hot the arctic silver undergoes nuclear fusion  .

No I dont have the latest. To be honest I dont even know what version I have. I only ever upgrade a BIOS in any of my motherboards if I am having a problem with something or I want a specific feature of a newer bios version. But I dont qualify this as a problem because it doesnt affect me. It doesnt even annoy me it is just something interestering that happens. The CPU still runs 100% stable at 1.83-4gighz. It just gives me a bit more of a boost in addition to the FSB speed boost. BTW I remembered that I also had a Thunderbird 1.4gig a year ago that had a similar response. It wouldnt work below a specific multiplyer either. 8x I think it was but I cant really remember exactly.
