Student and A gamer

I'm an 11 path grade student looking for a new laptop for school and gaming. I have about 2500$ to spend and I need something that I can carry around school with a decent battery life, writing papers and using other office applications, but also a powerful gaming rig that will be able to run amy game I want for the next few years. The razer blade 2014 is calling my name, but so is the 2013 for its killer battery life... Any suggestions alternatives?
