Stupid Itunes Issue

OK, so i was going through my iTunes music on my phone and i realized it was quite unorganized. So i deleted all of my music to input them back in, only to find that whenever i try to double click a song and try to drag it back in, it wouldn't transfer, when i do this, an exclamation mark goes on the side of it. Please help me because i want to listen to my songs on my phone again

(btw, it's in the music section of your devices when you plug it in, not your iTunes library.)

You're doing it wrong, what you should be doing is "syncing" your device with iTunes:
