Subwoofer for these speakers?

I have a set of Panasonic SA-PM29's and they are really good but i was looking around the back and I noticed that they have a sub woofer port named, Sub woofer Out that is black: http/imgur.com/aqDkeB8 I was wondering if there was a sub woofer that is under $200 that would work with theses speakers or does that port not work with a sub woofer? Any help would be great!

I have this subwoofer in a 2.1 setup with a pair of Jamo S602s and it's amazing. I used it in a 5.1 home theater before and it's honestly one of the best subwoofers in that price range. The build quality is good and the AMP never really heats up during usage.

Yes that is a subwoofer output. You will need a self powered subwoofer since your Panasonic is just feeding it the bass signal.
You want a forward firing woofer rather than a down firing or band pass woofer (this kind has a woofer on the inside of the cabinet that fires through a port, very bad quality of sound as you hear the sound of the port not the woofer).
Don't worry about how much power the woofer spec says it has, there is no standard for this so manufacturers usually lie a lot. If the woofer plays loud enough then it has enough power for you.
Too large a woofer can overpower a small room and just drive you crazy with boom. Check out this website for some possibles:
