Hello everybody, I want to start off by saying I am new to buying laptops. I made a deal with my son saying if he continued to do well in school id get him a laptop he would be able to play games on. He kept his end of the deal and now its my turn to pay up. Next year hes going to be going off to college and he cant be taking the home PC with him it all works out.
1. What is your budget?
I would like to spend more no than 1,500$
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
Not really a big issue he would probably use it as a replacement to a tower but also something he could take with him if he needed.
3. What screen resolution do you want?
This is were me not being to computer savvy is hurting me but something respectable i guess doesn't need to blow him away.
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
It will mostly be desktop replacement but a he would need to lug it around every now and again.
5. How much battery life do you need?
It will mostly be plugged if hes playing games so as long as it can go a hours while not running a game we are good.
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
He plays a lot of MMOs and high would be nice but he is also a plays dragon age 2 and a bunch of first person shooting and Real time strategy games.
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing,watching movies, Etc.)
Id imagine watching movies but nothing to serious with video or image editing.
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
A regular dvd player is good.
12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
Not really familiar with the brands as long as its not something with sketchy reviews
