My girlfriend got a netbook for her son and gave it to me to update, remove junk programs, setup and so on like that. She also asked if there was a way to secure it to a certain extent against him like stumbling on porn sites and what not. He is a good kid and doesnt mess with things she tells him not to, she is always near him when he uses her laptop but she wanted something for him to surf on, play browser games and do homework on but still just being on the internet at all means he can and will see/download stuff he shouldnt at some point even accidently.
Were not expecting to make it fool proof or anything but she just wanted some level of security for him but I have never in my life had to do anything like this so Im not sure what to do really. I didnt want anything to intrusive or would slow down the thing since its only a netbook and not that powerful anyway. I didnt know if there was a free program you could use, any kind of settings in windows or whatnot.
Its a acer one netbook with windows 7 starter and will be using IE9 as the browser.
Thanks.
