Suitable laptops for me

So soon im gonna be in college, and im gonna be taking Game development, in game arts, i think it will have 3d designing, rendering, and stuff, whats the best laptop for it?
My dad is planning to buy lenovo legion y520 for me.

For serious "pro-type" work, stepping up to a mobile workstation would be better (performance and capability-wise), but MUCH more expensive.
