Question Tab E (8")

I purchased a Tab E (8") via T-Mobile , which was a big mistake. It had a sim card that I did away with. I only want to use it as an android tablet. Is there a rom that can be installed to give me a better tablet. My old Kindle was far greater, it was running a flashed rom.
