I have followed the instructions online on how to take apart this lap top (cpu fan died) and it will not open. It appears that there is this stud or something that is just under the side of the memory module area that has no screw. It is simply a metal cylinder about 1/4" in diameter and the top is not accessible because there is the plastic casing of the lap top over it. When I pull apart the lap top, I can clearly see that this is the culprit not allowing it to open. On the other side of the cylinder is the keyboard, so no obvious way of getting to it. Any ideas on how to get this thing open?
