Solved! Tape to Make Phone Less Slippery?

I have a heavy phone which has a metal body. It's very slippery to hold.

I am looking for some type of tape that I can put on the two side edges so that they becomes less slippery and easier to hold.

I don't want to use a case because the phone is already very heavy. I tried some desk tape but they are just as slippery.

Does anyone know some tape that has a rough/sticky(with no residuals) surface for this purpose? The appearance of the phone after the tape doesn't matter.

You could try one of the types of grip tape. Although it is often a tad rough, it is used on things like skateboards and quite a few other places. The skateboard kind may not be quite right for you and for that usage, however the following link will give you an example of some for other items.

Bought a grip tape and it arrives today.
It's way too rough. Not the type of feeling for long term use.

Try a craft store. They may have a milder kind.
