Digital downloads only work, when the console makers actually provide you with a big enough hard drive to hold your games, and this console generation doesn't do that. That's why I don't own an XBox series X/S or PS5. I want my games to be at my fingertips, I don't want to have to delete, and download, over and over. SSD's only have a limited number of rewrites, and you're wasting them every time you have to delete something. The amount of space that the consoles come with is a joke. Less than 1tb in 2024? Come on. The XBox 360 and PS3 came with 512gb in each of their final iterations. I have 3 external hard drives each for my XBox One and PS4, with over 12tb of storage, and they are cheap. How do you even do that with the current gen, when the games have to be installed to the internal SSD to run? Consoles are a waste now. I'll stick with my PC, and cheap storage.
