This thing has a very cool design. Once again, I was confused with the title: "The Kitesurfer from the future" (I thought some kitesurfer traveled back in time from the future to the past (present of today))...

Sorting out Time Travels always give me a headache.

very nice concept but there's no chance it could beat the thrill of getting big air on a wake board. plus there's already something like this on the market called the kite cat and that costs 4k plus this thing being a 3 person vehicle to get anywhere close to the speed you can on a board would require a massive kite for the same wind and tbh i dont fancy having to get a kite of that size up in the air

People are barely able to control their cars and they're only able to travel in two dimensions. Please don't allow those same people to lift off. If Driver's Ed hasn't helped them thus far, then pilot training will likely do very little for them as well.

"Sounds good, but just how reliable is the wind as a motive power?"

Ermmm, Well it was the power that sailed many thousands of ships around the globe for several hundred years. East India Trading company mean anything to anyone?

Captain Kidd? Christopher Columbus?

"isn't there a chance that the kites might end up tangling with each other?"

Gee, on roads with all these cars driving around isn't there a chance they might crash into each other?

Calculated risks.

Put down the pen/netbook/keyboard Rico.... Learn some history.

Am I getting this right that this is supposed to be pitched as practical? This beats a more manageable sail-boat how? Thanks but I'll stick to old tech if I want to go green on the water.

This would be awesome if it came with it's own kite deploying system that shot the kite far far into the air compressed and then once high enough up it would deploy the kite.

if there are hundreds of these zooming around the same area, isn't there a chance that the kites might end up tangling with each other?
That was the first thing I thought of when they mentioned it as a vehicle... better float well and have they ability to detach a tangled kite and launch up a spare. (with a few dozen more spares just in case)

bloody stupid. would only work with a motor. kites (im a kitesurfer of 5 years) pull sideways and up to generate forward movement (very basically) and all the current hydrofoil kite boards need to be ridden at a angle so all the passangers will be leaning about 30degrees to the windward side of the kite !!!!! stupid, AND with the upward pull form the kite the hydro foils will need to be pulling down not pushing the boat up!!!! This is insulting to kite users from all denominations.think about it!!!!! And morons,......... kitesurfers pass each other all the time, there are rules about where you place your kite there are hardly ever any crashes.

however nice art work and a nice model!! Just needs to be thought out a little more.
