It is seldom I see an article that is spot on like this one.
Ps5pro seems like an incremental upgrade similar to the ps4pro. Ps4pro kind of supported 4K but not the way you really wanted it.
I see a similar scenario here. The Pro seems like an experimental platform , something that shows you the direction of console gaming, but it's not ready for prime time. BTW, you get to pony up more currency for it as well.
I think this may be the last mid cycle refresh we see from Sony. The Ps4pro sales were actually so tepid that I was surprised to see they would even try it again.
If they discontinued the OG PS5 it would make more sense.
The only aspect I can see which might make this a good idea would be if PS4 holdouts are motivated to finally upgrade for "checkerboard" level 8K support, but I have doubts.
