The screen on my laptop is blank but it flashes every few seconds

I have a hp laptop, but something happen when my son was on it. Now it's a blank screen, but flashes every few seconda

First try doing a hard reset by removing the battery and AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 secs. Put everything back together and see if you'll get any display from your screen. Next to try an external monitor if the first step didn't work. If you'll see a display on the external monitor it could be that either your LCD or the cable was damaged and replacement is already needed.
