Foldables being on the market for 5 years implies people are fickle and that's the issue. That completely ignores that fact that most every body can't afford a $2,000 phone. Ost people can't afford a $1,000 phone but carriers take the risk of bridge loans in the form of a lease. An expensive phone is a luxury. Maybe the goal is to maintain 2% because the phone is a halo device, catering to the bourgeoisie. Building a more expensive phone is just another version of the emperor's new clothes. Keep spending company money on products people can't afford will get them looking like the naked emperor because they are broke.

A 3000 Euros foldable tablet which has the full phone call ability is affordable.
It goes to mass production because of buyers, not because of whiners.
I will take a wild guess: Xiaomi, not TCL!

The manufacturer is Huawei. The Device is Huawer Mate XT. It was recently photographed being used by I believe the Huawei CEO while he was on a business flight. Expected to be demo'd in China around 10th September and hints of a US cost of around 2300/2400 US dollar (conversion from Chinese price).
