I'm looking for a new laptop, and the most i'd like to spend is $1000. I'm a gamer, and I like speed, so if there is a thin, preferably 1080p 15 or 17 inch laptop with an ssd i'd like that.
If you found a good one that doesn't have an SSD, i'd like that to be ~$800 so that I could plonk in one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167086
I'd like the laptop to be under an inch thick and have at least a 740M, and i'd rather go the Intel/nvidia route.

1k and slim and SSD? You're stretching it quite a bit unless you don't mind old stuff like a 1st-gen Razer blade 2nd hand.

BF4, etc, and a 1080p screen, and slim, and SSD... You're looking at a MSI GS70 at least.
First define "gaming". Do you want to run BF4 or something lighter?

Do you want portability? Battery life?

To give you a good option we'll need more info.

BF4, Payday 2, Minecraft, Garry's mod, TF2, etc.
I'd like under 6 pounds if possible and under an inch thick.
I'd like 2 hours or more of regular usage battery life if possible.

Ergh.
I don't care to have the highest settings in games, i'm fine with mid range, but the slimness factor is the largest thing for me.
I've never been that into battlefield, so I guess you could scratch that off the list.
The most i'd be willing to go is $1500.

Slim gaming systems would be either older Razer Blades or the newer MSI. Your budget is a big issue though, because slim always comes at a cost.

The three main games I will be playing are payday 2, minecraft and garry's mod. If I could get maxed settings on that on a 1080p screen while getting at least 40 fps, i'd manage. Minecraft takes up GPU and CPU, so those have to be balanced, and garry's mod is mostly GPU based, as it is a source game, and payday 2 is more GPU based. I'd prefer to only have one GPU, and not many games that I play support SLI.

And you will not find SLI in a thin laptop either anyway.
