Ok I have a HP laptop (HP G31 I think) and it has a broken monitor so I hooked it up to an external display and it instantly recognized and used the external monitor. Then it did a windows update and during the process (where it says don't turn off your computer) I accidentally turned it off. Now it shows nothing on external monitor but I can here the computer running. I also have an e machines laptop but it don't have an hdmi port. Can I swap hard drives from hp and configure it to go to external monitor or setup and boot it then transfer back to the hp? Or what can be done? I don't have a windows disk but do have the product key
