This laptop good for Moderate Gaming?

Howdy, so basically I'm in HS and I need a laptop, but I'm also a gamer. Parents won't let me make my own desktop, so I'm getting a laptop.

Basically, is the Lenovo y510p good for moderate gaming? Could I play actually games on Medium with it? I'm struggling to get perspective on its actual capabilities, so thanks!

If you are getting the dual 750m sli model then medium gaming np even high will be able then. If not then medium gmaing at 900p is what it will do.

You buy a laptop for portability.
A good gaming laptop will be much more expensive than a good gaming desktop.
One will set you back $1200 or so.
You can build a better gamer for 2/3 that.

May I suggest that you take your laptop budget and put together a desktop build for comparison.
Show it to your parents and make the argument.
If nothing else, you will gain experience from building it yourself.
