Tivo to go is worthless

I installed it after waiting a long time and it doesn't work.
After checking everything twice in my network and other
settings (I'm a tech), I re-read Tivo's web page and it
say you have to be a paid subscriber to use it. What
a bummer. I'll just keep doing manual transfers and delete
all that desktop software I got from them. I'm not subscribing
to their service, because the free listings is good enough.

Looks like you got exactly what you paid for! :)

Your new system info screen tells you that. I got the update last night and
that's one of the first things I noticed when I went looking for things that
had been changed.

and for all you people still waiting for the update - I have it but I have
no want, need or use for it.

My mistake - It's even more obvious. It's stated in the message you get
regarding the update.

For me, it works partially. I can transfer shows (slowly) but they
play in WMP in a square aspect ratio and lots of graininess.
I get a better picture on the 13" Philips TV I have next to my
computer monitor, wired to the Tivo's composite output with 50' of
RG-58.

I'll try it again when they provide a compatible codec with the
package. For now, I've uninstalled Tivo Desktop.
