Toshiba C55-A5249 Laptop Power Issue

I have the C55-A5249 Toshiba Laptop. The laptop will not power on with the battery and AC adapter plugged in. The power amber light flashes four or five times (no sounds or fans). With battery out and AC cord plugged in, not even a flashing light, nothing. I have tried a power reset, reseated memory, and removed hard drive to see if it would boot into Bios(it wouldn't). The laptop was left in sleep mode. The only thing I haven't tried is a new power adapter cord. Any other suggestions from the community?
