toshiba satelitte l675d-s7052 black screen

When i start my toshiba, everything begins to run but the screen. It remains black like i never turned the laptop on. Its a few years old but why is it happening and how can i fix it. I was just on it this morning then a few hours later when i turn it on this happens. I tried the remove battery option. Didnt work. I tried to test the rom. Didnt work. Im not able to do recovery mode because i cant see anything and also do not get any sound. Can someone please help me. Its a toahiba satellite L675D-S7052.

My toshiba l675d s7016 recently had a similiar problem. Black Screen, when turned on. Cd drive runs and Fan runs. BUt screen stayed black. Even when i connect it to another screen via VGA, BLACK. What I did was "reflow the motherboard" with a little guidance from "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cP2QOXNMA9g" now my screen runs perfectly and back to normal. Hope this Helps!

more than likely backlight or inverter has gone out. To be certain all you need to do is use a flashlight on the screen in a dim room. If you see the desktop but faint then its the backlight. Best solution..order a complete screen... messing with some inverter boards require soldering..screens run 80- 100.00 bucks
