Toshiba Satellite A505-S6033 overheating?

Hello,
My friend has on eof these for about 2 years now. It will just shut down as if it is reaching the thermal shut down. it is only on for a few min, if she even tries to doa back up or much web browsing it shuts down. at teh same time her battery seems to be weak, as in wont hold a charge very long. It has been in to Best Buy for repair on this and it still does the same thing. everyone who has looked at it for her, or tried to repair it, just shrug as if it baffles them. is there a good chance that cleaning the heat sinks and appling new quality paste will fix this?are the batteries known to be short lived in these? Thanks

Ok. Bestbuy/geeksquad no NOTHING about tech... they are there to pretend and UPS it to the manufacture at an insane price.

The battery should go down afer a few years... if they don't know why.... well again. they work for best buy....

If you have thermal shutdowns take it apart, blow it all out, replace the crappy thermal interface material on the factory heat sinks and check for crappy "thermal pads" between componets and the heatsink, and check that the fans stilll work.
